NEDSP1901-KBD Pre-Wired Low Level Audio DSP Noise Cancelling PCB Module

The NEDSP1901-KBD is an advanced DSP noise-cancelling module designed as a direct replacement for the discontinued NEDSP1061-KBD. It incorporates the latest bhi DSP technology, significantly enhancing the clarity of speech signals by reducing background noise. This module is ideal for amateur radio operators and commercial users who require superior noise reduction in their communication systems. 

A small push-button interface provides easy control of the DSP functionality, including on/off switching and selection of eight noise-filtering levels. The module is compatible with a wide range of transceivers and radio receivers, with specific installation guides available for popular models such as the Yaesu FT-817/FT-818, Kenwood TS-50, and Icom 706 MK II G. 

For users who do not want to fit the module inside their radios due to space constraints or other reasons, the NES10-2MK4 DSP noise-cancelling speaker is an excellent alternative. Additionally, commercial HF radio users may find the NEDSP1901-PCB module more suitable for their applications.  

Installation information 

Just four wires are used to connect the module into the audio circuit of your radio/receiver: Audio In, Audio out, 0V and Power. All that's left to do is drill holes to accommodate the switch assembly and label. Fitting kit supplied.

How is it installed in a radio? Do I need to solder it in?

Yes, it requires cutting an existing coupling capacitor, soldering four wires (audio in, out, power, ground), drilling mounting holes for the switch, and positioning the board.

Which radios are compatible?

Will it void my radio’s warranty?

Yes, internal modifications, including PCB alterations and drilling, void standard manufacturer warranties. Proceed at your own risk.

How do I control noise reduction levels?

A small push-button toggles DSP on/off; long-press cycles through 8 filter levels. There is audio and an LED indication of filter level selection.

Can I fit it if I’ve added extra filters (e.g. FT‑817)?

Not always—some models (like FT‑817/818 with extra filters) may conflict with module placement. Alternatives like the NES10‑2MK4 speaker may be better suited. Speak to our team if you have any questions about your installation.

Does this model replace a previous model?

Yes, this replaces the obsolete NEDSP1061-KBD model and features the latest bhi noise cancelling technology.

Is a fitting kit supplied with the module?
