Remove background noise and hear speech clearly with this fully featured DSP noise cancelling in-line unit

The Dual In-Line module uses our unique DSP (Digital Signal Processing) technology to effectively distinguish between speech signals and background noise, dramatically improving speech intelligibility even under challenging conditions. Whether you're working with weak signals or operating in noisy environments, this unit ensures your communications remain clear and comprehensible.

This versatile device seamlessly integrates into any audio setup, fitting between your radio and extension speaker. It accepts speaker-level and line-level inputs through standard 3.5mm connections. The ability to process either stereo signals or two separate mono channels makes it ideal for a wide range of applications. The unit's flexibility is further enhanced by its multiple output options, allowing simultaneous use of headphones, passive speakers, and powered speakers.

The unit is supplied with:

  • 1 x ALD-007 stereo plug-to-plug lead
  • 1 x ALD-001 3.5mm mono plug-to-plug lead
  • User manual
  • Rubber feet
  • A fused DC power lead.
You may want to consider a separate mains plug-in 12V DC power supply like the worldwide PSU-12-2A-WW.

Testimonials

"Highly impressed, worth the cost, very effective at removing noise but leaving signals, excellent performance, surpassed my expectations" - Dan AB5VJ

"Reduced noise and made more clear and more pleasant" - Steve Gibbs, using it for scanner and HF listening

"I bought the Dual Inline from DX, and I can now hear all the call signs clearly the first time, despite the thunder crashes on the air. I usually have the filter level at 4, occasionally 5, and never need it higher even in bad conditions. It's working great for me. Thank you!" - Paul AE5JU

FAQs

What audio connections are supported?

The Dual In-Line supports speaker level stereo/mono and line-level via 3.5mm jacks, plus a 7W amplified mono speaker out socket and 3.5 mm stereo headphone output. It's compatible with both stereo speakers and mono rigs.

What is the audio output power?

The audio output power is 7W from a standard 4 or 8 ohm mono loudspeaker and “line level” audio for connecting powered speakers or an amplifier stage.

How is it powered, and what voltage is required?

It operates from 10–16 V DC at 800 mA nominal (up to 2.5 A peak). Includes fused DC lead; a 12 V DC desktop supply is recommended.

Does it introduce a noticeable audio delay?

No, you won’t notice latency. DSP latency is very low.

Does the loudspeaker mute when stereo headphones are plugged in?

No, on this unit, you can listen through headphones and a mono loudspeaker at the same time.

Can you connect two radios to this unit?

Yes, you can do it using one of our ALD-YO1 splitter cables. This cable enables you to connect two separate mono inputs to the left and right channels when the “separate/combined” switch is set to “separate”. You can then listen to both radios using stereo headphones or by connecting a pair of powered speakers to the “line out” socket.

What are the DSP levels and max noise suppression?

The Dual In-Line features 8 selectable filter levels providing 8–40 dB noise cancellation, with tone suppression up to 65 dB.

Can I switch between stereo and mono inputs?

Yes—there’s a switch to combine or separate input channels, making it great for dual-mono or stereo setups.

Is this a replacement for older models?

Yes, this module is a replacement for the discontinued NEIM1031MKII, featuring enhanced DSP noise cancelling and functionality.

What’s included in the box?

It comes with mono and stereo 3.5 mm cables, a user manual, rubber feet, and a fused DC power cable with bare ends.
